![]() Recycling & Waste Reduction Services collects clothing, food, linens, toys, furniture, appliances, and toiletries for the less fortunate living in Kalamazoo. This program formerly called the Move-Out program earned a new name after we noticed how many reusable items we were able to donate. As the old saying goes “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure!” Our busiest time of the year is in the spring, when students move out of the residence halls. Each year we set out boxes for items that are fit for donation, collect them throughout the week and take them to the Kalamazoo Deacon’s Conference. This program is a wonderful way to help your community. Please participate!
Anyone living on campus that would like to participate in the program can
call our office at 269-387-8165 to schedule a pick-up. Remember that
this service is available all year round for your convenience and for those
in need. For those living off campus, Kalamazoo Deacon’s Conference
is located at: Kalamazoo, MI 269-344-7333 We do not have the staff and equipment available to assist those living off campus, but Kalamazoo Deacon’s Conference will be thrilled to receive your gently used items. These results are based on the amounts of food, clothing, and toiletries collected from residence halls in the spring, before students leave campus for the summer. Everything collected is weighed and taken to a local social service organization. All weights are in pounds and do not include furniture and appliances.
We look forward to turning your 'trash' into someone else's treasure! |
