
Maintenance Services, in conjunction with Department of Public Safety and Environmental Safety and Emergency Management, monitors and maintains approximately 1670+ pull stations, 2020 smoke detectors, 633 duct detectors, 4,107 audible signal devices, and 192 heat detectors in 110 buildings covering 8.1 million square feet of building space, 716+ emergency lights, 1158+ exit lights and 32+ combo lights in the WMU Campus Environment.
Scheduled or unscheduled fire alarm systems and emergency light systems and related maintenance is managed through Maintenance Services on a daily basis. The inspection testing, cleaning, and repairs are performed by certified and licensed fire alarm contractor technicians.
