
Maintenance Services, in conjunction with Department of Public Safety and Environmental Safety and Emergency Management, monitors and maintains approximately 1380+ pull stations, 1280 smoke detectors, 350 duct detectors, 885 audible signal devices, and 101 heat detectors in 75 buildings covering 7.8 million square feet of building space, 585+ emergency lights, 942+ exit lights and 21+ combo lights in the WMU Campus Environment.
Scheduled or unscheduled fire alarm systems and emergency light systems and related maintenance is managed through Maintenance Services on a daily basis. The inspection testing, cleaning, and repairs are performed by certified and licensed fire alarm contractor technicians.
